Introduction to Appropriate Preposition
Appropriate Preposition হলো এমন Preposition, যা কোনো নির্দিষ্ট Verb, Adjective, Noun বা Phrase-এর সঙ্গে প্রচলিত নিয়মে ব্যবহৃত হয়। একই শব্দের সঙ্গে Preposition পরিবর্তিত হলে অনেক সময় অর্থও পরিবর্তিত হয়। তাই এগুলোকে বিচ্ছিন্নভাবে না পড়ে শব্দ ও Preposition-কে একটি নির্দিষ্ট combination হিসেবে শেখা সুবিধাজনক।

যেমন, agree to সাধারণত কোনো প্রস্তাব বা পরিকল্পনায় সম্মতি বোঝায়, আর agree with কোনো ব্যক্তির মতের সঙ্গে একমত হওয়া বোঝায়। আবার compare to সাদৃশ্য দেখাতে এবং compare with পাশাপাশি বিচার করতে ব্যবহৃত হয়।

Acceptable to — কারও কাছে গ্রহণযোগ্য।
Example: The proposal is acceptable to us.

Access to — প্রবেশাধিকার বা ব্যবহারের সুযোগ।
Example: Students have access to the library.

According to — অনুসারে।
Example: He acted according to the instructions.

Account with — কোনো ব্যাংক বা প্রতিষ্ঠানের সঙ্গে হিসাব থাকা।
Example: He has an account with a local bank.

Account for — কারণ বা ব্যাখ্যা দেওয়া।
Example: He could not account for his absence.

Accused of — কোনো অপরাধে অভিযুক্ত।
Example: The man was accused of theft.

Acquit of — অভিযোগ থেকে অব্যাহতি দেওয়া।
Example: The court acquitted him of the charge.

Adapt to — মানিয়ে নেওয়া।
Example: She adapted to the new environment.

Addicted to — আসক্ত হওয়া।
Example: He is addicted to gambling.

Adhere to — দৃঢ়ভাবে মেনে চলা।
Example: You should adhere to your principles.

Admit of — সুযোগ বা অবকাশ রাখা।
Example: His conduct admits of no excuse.

Afraid of — ভয় পাওয়া।
Example: The child is afraid of dogs.

Agree to — প্রস্তাব বা পরিকল্পনায় সম্মতি দেওয়া।
Example: She agreed to the proposal.

Agree with — কারও সঙ্গে একমত হওয়া।
Example: I agree with you.

Aim at — লক্ষ্য স্থির করা।
Example: The programme aims at improving literacy.

Allergic to — কোনো কিছুর প্রতি অ্যালার্জি থাকা।
Example: Some people are allergic to dust.

Alternative to — বিকল্প।
Example: There is no alternative to hard work.

Amenable to — যুক্তি বা নিয়ন্ত্রণে সাড়া দেয় এমন।
Example: The student is amenable to reason.
